Pep Talk You Can Take With You!
By Donovan Grant
I don’t normally show up here on the weekends, but today I was thinking about you…
As we move into the second week of the New Year, how is it going for you? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
This is the thing- after a long holiday season it can be tough to get the momentum in life going again. If that was how it’s been for you so far, don’t despair my friend, you’re not alone. Most people find it hard to get back into normal sleep routines, some get overwhelmed by the tons of emails waiting in their inbox at the office and others just don’t have time for themselves.
Getting back on track in any worthwhile event is never easy. So remember this- you can do it!
When we are trying to improve our lives for the benefit of our family it takes effort, it takes commitment and takes some struggles too. So the question is what meaning do we give to the struggles that we face?
The easy option is to flap around in the pain, complain about stuff and possibly even give up on your dream. A more earnest option would be to take it on the chin and ask ourselves different questions; “what can I learn from this?” and “what else could this challenge mean?”
When you shift our thinking from concern to one of promise, it becomes easier to cut out the noise and focus on what really matters. Things that you see as a struggle – like your job, your health and your relationships will improve step by step.
One important thing I’ve learnt through trial and error is that improving yourself and your lifestyle is a difficult path to take alone. No one can really be successful without the assistance of others. As your teammate and our friend, I want you to know that I’m cheering for you and I want you to know that the best is yet to come!
I believe in you and I believe in your dreams.
Have an awesome weekend!
