Some say ‘wake-up call’ and some say ‘bad luck’

By Donovan Grant

Can breaking an arm be a wake up call? You bet ya!

I broke my right arm a few weeks ago and my left arm has been called into action and it was not expecting to work so hard! My left arm had been getting lazy, complacent and unskilled. This week it has been writing like Shakespeare, feeding me like a baby and even opening doors like there was no tomorrow. This all seems so alien just because old leftie has not been used for a while.

Most of us have one dominant hand and the other doesn’t get much attention. To be honest, the same could be said about how we going about our daily lives too.

Let’s face it the vast majority of people do the same thing day in and day out and its only when we hit an obstacle that we realise I should have prepared for this.

But here’s the thing-

Isn’t it amazing what we can take for granted?

Isn’t amazing how easily we can be thrown off track?

Isn’t it amazing how resilient we really are?

You, my friend were designed for greatness.

You were born to win. Your uniqueness is your strength. And you are unstoppable.

As you go through the day, I want you to remember that “you are unstoppable!!” If you get a setback today, rather than complain about it, just pause for a moment, take a deep breath and ask yourself “if I am truly unstoppable, what do I need to do right now to handle this?”

A broken arm can’t stop you, your line manager can’t stop you and an unhappy customer can’t stop you. The buck starts and ends with you. You get to choose the meaning that you give to every situation that comes your way.

So enjoy your day and keep moving forward, you were born to win.

Let’s be bold, stand tall and hold ourselves accountable!

From my heart to yours

Donovan
